We had an enjoyable stay in a B&B in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The location was perfect, just across the bridge from a nice village with good restaurants and a few minutes' walk to the ferry's. The room was clean, cosy and had a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was spotless with a good hot shower. The breakfast was lovely and we were offered a good variety of home-cooked options. The host was friendly and helpful, assisting with reservations for local attractions and providing parting gifts.
The hotel was relatively far from the bus station and public transport which was inconvenient for us as it was about a 20-minute walk away.

We had a fantastic time staying at this charming B&B. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, making us feel right at home. The location was perfect, just a short walk away from the boats to Skellig. The breakfast provided was delicious, even though it wasn't cooked. The owner was friendly and accommodating, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. Despite a few minor drawbacks, we highly recommend Carraig Liath House for a visit to Valentia Island.

The location was excellent, offering a range of activities for us to enjoy. From golfing on nearby courses to horse riding along the scenic trails, there was something for everyone. The hostess, Frances, went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The spacious and updated rooms provided ample space for our large family, with each room having its own bathroom. The pre-ordered breakfast was a hit with our kids, who loved starting their day with a delicious home-cooked meal. The proximity to Portmagee made exploring the picturesque fishing town a breeze. We wished we had more time to fully explore all that Valentia Island had to offer. It was a perfect base for our adventures along the Ring of Kerry.
For families with young children, it would be great to have a play area or outdoor space for them to run around and play.

We had some issues with the staff. They didn't seem to be very attentive or interested in making sure we were comfortable during our stay.

The hotel truly takes advantage of its surroundings and offers rooms with great views from the windows. We couldn't get enough of the picturesque bay and the green hills that surrounded us. It felt like we were in the middle of a postcard-perfect scene.
All was perfect.
